Artist-Led Yule Wreath Making Workshop - selected dates
10.30am-1pm
Join us for a traditional Yule wreath making workshop led by Karen from The Conscious Sisters CIC. Get into the festive spirit while making your willow wreath from scratch. Whilst our facilitator teaches you how to bend, shape and build your perfect willow wreath base, you'll also hear about the ancient history and traditions behind this seasonal decoration and the symbolism behind the different botanicals.
Then decorate it using fragrant botanicals such as bay, fir, pinecones, camellia leaves, holly and rosemary that are sourced locally by Plymouth City Council's Parks team. These will be mixed with more exotic botanicals such as star anise, cinnamon sticks and orange slices, chosen to symbolise prosperity and the return of the sun.
Materials, instruction, and tools are provided, but if you have something special or personal to add please do bring it along.
This traditional and eco-friendly wreath is not just for Christmas, it can be used all year round for decoration. Simply replace the Yule botanicals for dried flowers or other seasonal offerings throughout the year and keep your wreath looking seasonal!
Tickets are non-refundable.
