Showing the Guildhall and St Andrew's Church, in the foreground on the right, the National Westminister Bank (formerly the National Provincial Bank), in the centre, business premises, including Debenhams (formerly John Yeo and Spooners) and Norwich Union House, in the foreground on the left, Bretonside Bus Station, the spire of Charles Church and Turnbulls garage, in the middle distance, Friary station bridge, in the centre background and the white tower of Blue Circle cement works, Billacombe, in the background on the right.
