If you haven’t visited The Box before, why not join one of our free Box Beginners tours? These friendly sessions are designed for first-time visitors who would like to build their confidence exploring the venue. This accessible 90-minute tour gives you a front and back of house experience designed to give you a brilliant insight into everything we have to offer. 

You'll get a peek at all the permanent galleries taking in Mildred the Mammoth, the extraordinary collection of Royal Naval ship's figureheads, information on to how to book an appointment in research room and the chance to find out if your street was bombed during the Second World War with our digital bomb map. 

The tour is designed to help you get the most out of a trip to The Box and build the confidence to come back time and time again. 

On the day, please arrive five minutes early and make your way to our Welcome Desk. Charlotte, our tour guide, will meet you there. You don’t need to bring anything with you, just your enthusiasm.
