Two Men on a Donkey
This print shows a pen and black ink, red wash and touches of grey wash over graphite of The farmer, his son and the donkey, by Claude Gillot (1673-1722).
This image is from a pen and ink drawing depicting a scene from 'Le Meunier, Son Fils et L'Ane' (The Miller, His Son, and the Donkey) a 17th century French fable by Jean de La Fontaine. The drawing, believed to be a preparatory study features a red and grey wash over graphite. Dating to the early 18th century, the drawing is attributed to the French painter and draughtsman Claude Gillot (1673-1722).
