Volunteers' Week: Parish Registers Taster Session - Friday 6 June

Visit the Cottonian Research Room at The Box to see how the hundreds of the Parish Registers we hold get indexed to help family historians find their ancestors.

Book a short taster session to try out creating entries for the database. No two people have the same handwriting and some of the entries can be more challenging than others to read! Help us add to the 1.5 million entries that have already been created.

This Volunteers' Week, The Box has joined forces with partners from across the city to create a series of thank you activities, just for volunteers! Whether you gift your time running errands for your neighbour, spend time at your local community centre serving tea or trek the moors surveying birds, these thank yous are for you. No volunteering is too small or too brief; you are amazing, and Plymouth appreciates all that you do.
