Join us for a half-day Cyanotype workshop where you'll explore the fascinating art of cyanotype printing on both paper and fabric.

Dive into the rich history of this photographic process, invented in the 1840s by Sir John Herschel, which has been cherished for its stunning blue hues and unique aesthetic.

The workshop will be led by local artist Nicky Harwood, whose piece 'Parachute' is on display in our 'Planet Ocean' exhibition.

Learn about cyanotype's early scientific applications, particularly the pioneering work of botanist Anna Atkins, who used it to create detailed records of seaweed and other botanical specimens.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll create your own beautiful cyanotype prints, gaining practical experience and creative inspiration. Perfect for artists, hobbyists, and history enthusiasts alike.

No previous experience is necessary. All materials will be supplied.
